Cecilia Chen is a visual artist and high school student at The Hockaday School in Dallas, Texas. She has been immersed in painting and the arts, specifically classical piano, since the age of 5, developing a lifelong love and passion for the creative world. Her work spans a wide range of mediums, from oil on canvas to incorporating plastic, fabric, and found materials.
Cecilia's pieces often explore the relationship between classic structure and authentic spontaneity, often focusing on people, moments, or global issues that have shaped her identity throughout her life. Her dedication has been recognized through honors such as Gold and Silver Keys in the Scholastic Art and Writing Awards. She also showed her artwork in the Dallas Young Artist Exhibition at the Blueprint Gallery in 2025.
Cecilia also hopes to use her art for bettering the world around her. She has a clothing business, which she creates the designs for, called Sloane the Brand. Sloane aims to improve sustainability and art education accessibility.Learn more at www.sloanethebrand.org.
