2025 research titled,
Looking Beyond the Label: Detecting Truth in Greenwashed Promises.
My research revolved around the use of the marketing tactic known as greenwashing on consumer behaviors. I wanted to learn more about how our consumption patterns contributed to a leading environmental problem: textile waste. Furthermore, the paper also looked into slow consumption, with an end goal of finding out how we as buyers can contribute to a more sustainable fashion industry.
My research was also nominated for the Pioneer Research Journal, placing it in the top 6% of all papers written through the program in 2025.
2026 research titled,
Matisse's Unpaid Debt: Cultural Reparations Through Supporting Contemporary Congolese Art.
In June of 2026, I attended the Stanford Summer Humanities Institute, taking a 3-week long course to study Colonial Extractions of African Cultural Treasures. This program, which did an in-depth dive into the importance and history of repatriating African art that was taken during Europe's colonial period, culminated in a research project. For my research, I looked specifically at modern day reparations to be provided to Congolese artists, based on the huge (yet largely unacknowledged) influence of Congolese art during the growth of French Modernism and Matisse's popularity.
